École française d'Extrême-Orient: Vientiane Center Library
The Vientiane Library opened in 2005. Its multilingual holdings, specialized in the humanities and the social sciences, include a unique and constantly up-dated collection on Laos. The collections span a variety of disciplines including archeology, ethnology, history, Buddhism, and Brahmanism. Library resources comprise some 4,800 monographs and periodicals, 700 offprints and over 700 PDF files.
Since 2013, the EFEO South Asia Collection (Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam), and photographic archives (over 44,500 digitized images) conserved at the EFEO Paris Center are accessible to Vientiane users on-line via the Webmuseo database. Lectors can consult the database via the Vientiane Library's public access computer.
A photocopy service is available to lectors, the service is free for up to 20 copies.
