Museum

Museum of Mineralogy

The mineralogy collections housed in the hôtel de Vendôme for over 200 years are amongst the world's finest. They comprise 100,000 specimens of which a full 4,000 are on display!
Although their beauty is evident even to the least discerning eye, long years of study are required to uncover their most intimate secrets. The Museum is not only a place where specimens are preserved and displayed, but also a research center.
Thanks to the Museum's on-going research, the minerals, rocks, meteorites, and gems reveal their history, their beauty and usefulness.
